How many close games have you been in? How many times has the game come down to that one big play (or two) and you’ve just GOT to have it. Heck, maybe you only need three to five yards or a two point conversion but you’ve gotta have it. There are times, of course, that one of your bread and butter plays will do the job, but often against a really good team in a big game you need something that the defense hasn’t seen during the game or on film. I came to believe that you need to have that in your arsenal after about twenty years of coaching and I have become more convinced of it in the last twenty years. As we come down the final stretch of the season this just might be a good time to add one or two of those plays for those big playoff games or maybe just to GET IN to the playoffs.

Hand Full Of Plays
A few years back we here at Chiefpigskin hosted a clinic and one of our presenters was head coach Craig Buzea of Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Illinois. HF plays in the 8A division in Illinois (the largest class) and is highly

respected for their ability to be a power program every season. Coach Buzea’s presentation of his Highly Multiple Zone Based Offense has been one of our best sellers. One of the neat things about his presentations is the fact that he also throws in a few plays that he only uses in key situations that he knows their opponents haven’t seen and he knows WILL work. This is the perfect time to find that nugget that just might be the difference in a big game. I think it’s worth a look.
