Coach Scott Peach

Okay, I love the counter game. To me, if you don’t have a counter game your offense has a big hole in it. There are so many ways to run counter that it’s up to each coach to figure out what works best for his offense or situation. Maybe you have just one counter play or maybe you have three or four – depends on your unique philosophy. But whatever the case, you gotta have at least one. Scott Peach, the head coach at Arlington High School in Texas, presented three videos for Chiefpigskin a couple of years ago and one of them was the Spread Counter Game. All of his presentations are some of my favorites but man, I really love his counter plays. If you’re looking for a counter play or several counter plays, you will want to take a look at this presentation from Coach Peach. He gives great diagrams accompanied with game clips to give coaches quality instruction with plenty of options. Coach Peach comes from a long line of high school coaches and also has good stories and sound philosophy. I know you’ll benefit from this video so check it out!

Coach Lance Leipold

What I’m Thinking… A few years back we at Chiefpigskin visited the campus at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater. Whitewater was a perrennial powerhouse in D3 college football and in fact won 6 National titles from 2007 to 2014. Oh yeah, they were also a runner up during that time. The coach during that time was Lance Leipold and he was very gracious. He gave us a tour of the campus in his golf cart, had a couple of position coaches do presentations for us, then invited us into his office to discuss coaching philosophy. What a great trip! Where’s Leipold now? He’s the head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks and has completely turned the program around and has become a BIG name. Congrats Coach, and thanks for treating us so well…I’m a big baseball fan but MLB is so unpredictable. My Cards got taken out by the Phillies in two games, Scherzer got hammered, Kershaw got beat 5-3 by the Padres and the Mets, who won over 100 games are gone in the 1st round. In baseball, anything can happen…Does almost every NFL game come down to a last second field goal?…Is anyone else getting as sick of ESPN as I am? I used to really enjoy it – although I still like Kornheiser and Wilbon…I can’t get into the NBA anymore, not that I ever did THAT much. The “stars” are prima donnas and everyone sucks up to them…My Illinois Fighting Illini football team is 5-1 and ranked 24th. That’s great news in Champaign, Illinois and the whole town is happy for them. Of course, that’ll get you fired at Alabama, Georgia, or Ohio State. Unranked Minnesota is coming to town this weekend and is a 6 1/2 point favorite. No national respect for the Illini yet. Honestly, I think the game is a toss up…Biggest college game this weekend? How about Alabama vs Tennessee? Are the Vols really back? We’ll find out and so what if Tide QB Bryce Young is out? They’ll just put in another All American QB and be just fine. By the way, did anyone mention that Illinois beat Iowa last week with a backup QB? Yeah, that’s football and Alabama will be just fine. If they lose, it’s not because the starting QB was out.     DBLITY
